Solution:

1) If the Database window is not active, activate the Database window.
2) Open the query in Design view.
3) Click in the field for which to change the control type in the query design grid. (The cursor blinks in the field.)

4) Select the 'View' menu and select 'Properties'. (The Field property sheet appears.)

5) Click the 'Lookup' tab.
6) Select 'Text Box' from the 'Display Control' drop-down list.

7) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Save' to save the change.
8) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Close' to close the query.
